Wednesday 4 April 2007: The road home
Set off early morning for the long journey back through Scotland. Always a pain when it's such a nice day and you've got to be stuck in the car. But then if you've got to be on a road it may as well go through some fabulous scenery.
I blipped this from the window of the car just south of Thurso. Must be heather burning season, as there were fires all throughout the highlands. Not sure but I think they burn it to encourage fresh growth for the grouse to nibble on. Either that or the clans are gathering and these are the signal fires.
