Let's all go down the Strand

"Experience is the name everyone gives to their mistakes."
Lady Windermere’s Fan, Mr. Dumby, Act 3, Oscar Wilde

An afternoon and evening in London town, basked in brilliant sunshine and blue skies, with mbfiatw Jean, and Caitlin who's in London for a couple of days, to see the matinee performance of "Lady Windermere's Fan" at the Vaudeville theatre, with dinner and a pint in 'the Coal Hole' directly afterwards. I managed to have fun even though this wretched cold seems to be getting worse not better, and Boots the chemist remedies now failing miserably to provide relief. Humour and chat with Jean and Caitlin provided a perfect, if temporary, panacea.

The last time I walked down the Strand was in October 2013, and was with Dad, who stood in this doorway for my photo (here).  We were on our way to see "Top Hat" at the Aldwych.  He would have enjoyed today's performance.  I would have enjoyed him seeing it with us.
