Friday 6 April 2007: It's in the genes

Our boys look very, very like their Dad. Especially their eyes. However about the age of 5 Ruairidh's changed from deep blue to a greyish green. Campbell's seem to be staying blue. I wonder what genetic switch is in action there?

From my side of the family they both got strange little toenails on their pinkie toes. Actually more of a horn than a nail. About the age of 7 or 8 they flatten out and turn to ordinary nails, at least that's what has happened to the rest of us. Campbell's are still there at the moment.

It's interesting watching genetics in action. Sometimes you don't realise you're looking at yourself until it's pointed out to you. So long as the boys inherit their Dad's bums and not mine, they should be OK.
