Snack

I was carefully approaching this male praying mantis when he suddenly jerked sideways and grabbed something. I couldn’t see what it was, but it was small, and had wings and long antennae.

There are not many praying mantises around now. I know the whereabouts of 2 females and 2 males. The females are slim, which suggests that they have already laid their eggs. I have found only 5 new egg cases. I keep on looking.
