Perfect light

for a trip to Bouzigues on the Etang de Thau where the salt water lagoon is filled with oyster and mussel beds that stretch across the water to Sète. Bright boats were moored along the quay in the small port next to the museum where we learned a bit more about the shell fish industry of the area. Unlike other industries this one is very good for the environment - it's in the interests of the producers to keep the waters clean and natural so that their shell fish can be sold straight from the farms without being kept in purification tanks as they are elsewhere.

Dare I say that this trip counted as work? I needed some more photos for a book project. After the work, we had lunch at Chez la Tchepe - a simple café where they sell raw oysters and mussels from crates at the counter, as well as cooked prawns and sea snails with delicious home made mayonnaise, to be eaten with a bottle of Picpoul at tables outside, in sight of the beds where the shell fish has grown. Perfect.

I took a couple of hundred photos this morning and I've put another couple of colourful abstracts here and here.
