Northern Exposure

Flossy

Decided to head out on an adventure today. Called up some friends and headed west. Somehow poor Jon managed to end up in the car with all the kids and the dog (nice one Kate). Our plan was to go rockpooling on the beach near the Brough of Birsay but it was so wet and windy that we only managed to stay for a short while. The boys did make a few discoveries but not quite what we expected.

I think our friends dog Flossy had the best time, she found an old shoe and spent ages chasing it in and out of the sea. And like the boys would have been quite happy to stay out in the rain and wind. Sorry this is out of focus but she was too quick for me. I think you still get the effect of her wonderful eyes.

Eventually we retreated to get some soup but on arriving at the local cafe discovered it was shut. Tried to leave but discovered that we were trapped at the end of the road by a tanker unloading some fuel. Fortunately we had some emergency supplies to keep us going until we escaped and managed to find a cafe that was open.

Oh, and it was my fault that Campbell fell in the Rock Pool and got soaking wet. Apparently I shouldn't have told him to be careful. Silly me!
