Marsh Harrier in Spain

We were in the Doñana National Park, at the Valverde Visitor Center. It's very spacious, with floor to ceiling windows. Through them we saw this raptor appear; it flew around in front of us, and this was one of the few sharp captures that I managed.

It's a male Marsh Harrier (Circus aeruginosus). We saw many of them on our day-long trip to the eastern area of the Park--as well as Hen Harriers (Circus cyaneus), which is identical with North America's Northern Harrier. (Hope you're not confused.) It was one more wonderful day on our five-day tour (which began here. Tomorrow we tour for another few hours and then head north to Seville.

Other feature birds today were black winged kites, various larks, fan-tailed warblers, a barn owl (!), and common cranes. I may add more by tomorrow morning.
