Standing Tall

Dear Diary,

Gaylord likes to grab a peanut and retreat a few feet away to savor his find.  Usually he stands up to do this.  Always, with his back to me.  Now, I wonder what he is trying to say.  Maybe, “Back off crazy lady with the camera!” or it might be, “Can’t a guy get a bit of privacy around here?”  Enjoy you peanuts little man, however you like to chomp them! 

We are getting a bit of a warm up this week despite chilly nights.  Perfect sap tapping weather.  I feel like I want to go out a measure the snow every hour to check its retreat but a watched pot never bowls and obsessing over the snow won’t make it melt any faster!
