A Tender Spring Treat

Dear Diary,

The squirrels look forward to spring as much as I do.  The old maple tree in front offers them a delicious snack of new leaf buds.  This little guy is sure enjoying his morning nibble.  You can tell by the rolls of fat on his belly that he was well taken care of at the seed bowl this winter too!  This old tree is in sad shape.  I'm doing all I can to save it but I always wonder if this is the year it will have to be cut down.  That will be a very sad day, for me and for the squirrels.
