Saturday 28 February 2009: No trophies, no medals, no spoons.
Last night of the primary school 5 a side league.
Hugely proud of the team and of Steven who coaches them.
In the last 3 years they have gone from proud holders of the wooden spoon to 15th in the league. But to go from not scoring any goals and regularly being beat 6-0 to scoring 32 goals and a respectable place in the table is miraculous. Especially when you consider the size of our school role compared to the big ones, 20 or so kids compared to over 500.
Last night they played their socks off, 2 wins, 2 defeats (one of which was so close to the wire that the supporters hearts were in their mouths) and managed to move up another place on the table.
They've got a couple of short knock-out tournaments in the next few weeks so fingers crossed they'll do well in them.
Well done!
