The shame of it

As Toyah Wilcox switched on the lights
The gathered crowds booed in dismay
At the sight of the lights, a tawdry string,
A dismal, unfestive display.
Another example, they cried, of miserly Canterbury City Council
Not valuing coastal Herne Bay.
So as they go down
There's none in the town
To wish them goodbye today.

HB is now infamous for having the worst Xmas lights in Britain. Local traders promise better for next year: 'better than Blackpool'. Uh oh. The festival of Xmas lights on, in front of, on top of and surrounding many houses in the Bay should be a warning ....!
