Abstract Thursday - Plate Tectonics

The world shifts, imperceptibly, beneath our feet. One day, in a momentous upheaval, everything is transformed. Pressures resisted for eons give way, and release energies that can only result in the loss of what was. Only time can tell if what will be is of value, is sustainable, or even survivable.

Two weeks to go, and the madman at the helm signals his plan is done. That which he vowed never to do, is seemingly the only way to go, and borders, like time zones, can now straddle the watery expanse. Not that his plan is water-tight, or likely to float. Or is even his real plan... Yes, I know, he's gone off on one again...

What started out as a pine cone took on new form as the details emerged, first as shifting platelets, and then as some twisted kind of Baron Greenback with poor complexion. The inevitable comparisons were, of course, inevitable. The theme was texture... that featured too.
