Continuing the Tradition

38 days old
After a day when it is obvious that Euan has outgrown his newborn insert in his car seat and will soon have outgrown his changing mat and his napper (they have so much kit these babies these days!); when another set of baby clothes will be washed and put away to be passed on as they are now too small; when he is making much more deliberate eye contact and tracking his Mum across the room and when he lifted his head up and kept it there for several seconds.....it was bound to signal a 'growth spurt' which also threw his routine out of the window; left both parents shattered from lack of sleep last night and the day ended with that Carlyle tradition of driving him around the neighbourhood in the dark to knock him out after he spent much too long awake enjoying hanging out with the grown ups.

As of that fateful week 3 night, Tony and I are now sitting up in the hope that he will either sleep to or through his next feed as Becky skilfully managed to get him out of the car and car seat and in to his swaddle with just a murmur, and we won't be needed to keep him occupied for several hours to give Mum and Dad a break!!

So here is the little chappie lifting his head and holding it there!
