Bumpers

Picked my friend from Newcastle airport on Friday. The snow was horrendous. It was fine until I got to the border. Took me 2 hours to get to the airport instead of the usual hour and 15 minutes. Got Alex eventually then headed back. About 10 mins outside of the airport we slid off the road, over a ditch and into a hedge. It happened very slowly almost like the Tom and Jerry ice skating music should of been in the back ground. Anyway, I couldn't get out of the driver side due to all the snow. Called greenflag but they wouldn't come and get us. Watched many a car slow down and have a good old stare then a lovely man stopped to see if we were ok then a lovely lady with a shovel. The guy shoveled the snow away then a giant lorry pulled up and the driver attached my car to the front of the lorry and pulled us out. Some people are just wonderful, hugs and lots of thank yous later we were back on the road in deep snow and blizzard conditions. It took 3 hours to get home. The English side was a disgrace, no gritters or snow blowers at all. As soon as we crossed the border the roads were clear. Crazy.

We are fine, my car is fine. It could have been so much worse.
