Nienke’s birthday

With us living in a temporary house, the Corona rules not allowing us to throw a big party and Martine who was discharged from hospital with a broken ankle just yesterday, we knew this was going to be a weird birthday for Nienke. She turned 16 today!

As weird as it was, it was actually quite great. We had a nice morning together. My in-laws came over with cake and brownies and in the afternoon she and Inge went to see pony Jade. In the meantime, Ellis had her friend Mylou over and one of Martine’s coworkers was there so see how Martine is doing.

When Nienke and Inge had returned, we had dinner delivered. Nienke wanted sushi so that’s what we got. After dinner, we watched the movie Maleficent.

It was all very harmonious today. A day to cherish. Nienke enjoyed it a lot. What more could we ask for?
