The new view

We had a look in my parents new home this afternoon.
They'll a at the highest (5th) floor of the building and this will be their new view. Nearest by is the 'Queen Wilhelminapark' with all the trees and beyond that is the towncentre of Delfzijl with the harbour. The place they've spent a large part of their lives. They're coming home, literally.
Once autumn will set in, the buildings and harbour will become better visible. But with all the green trees now, it's also beautiful.

Next Tuesday (August 4) the paperwork will be signed and keys handed over. Carpeting and furnishing have been ordered already. We will make this a high-speed rehousing.

My mother is getting a bit better every day. This morning we even had some good news from the hospital. The medication she's been taking for the last few weeks since she was released from the hospital, has done its work. She was very relieved to hear that, and above that, very relieved that no other bad news came her way.

We now can make concrete plans to get them settled here in Delfzijl with us.
Yes!

In the extra section a photo of the 'atrium' of the Wilhelminaheem. The way to their new frontdoor...
A lot of people were sitting at their frontdoor because live music was playing. I bet that's something my parents will have to get used to most. We'll see. They will definitely not be alone there.
