Sun's up

It's not often that we appear in two blips, before we even have time to get home.

First came a posing in front of the (not a) spitfire at Norfolk County Hall, where we went with norfolkdoc and W to give our 'notice' with a view to our impending civil partnership ceremonies (see norfolkdoc's blip for more details).

From there, we set off on the long journey home, but broke it for an excellent evening meal with Munroist and MrC in Northumberland. Evidence of our visit and some illustrations of the excellent salads that Munroist had produced can be found in her blip.

Onwards we pressed through worsening weather. It was periodically very foggy until we made it past Berwick (we couldn't take the direct route because of the landslip at Fala Dam which has blocked the A68), especially on the higher ground. From there to Edinburgh was smooth sailing. We got home to find no major alarms stemming from the big storm on Tuesday night, but thank goodness we weren't here for it, as I hate lightning and thunder.

We sat quietly for a while, letting the journey slip away over a glass of red wine, and then retired to bed. It's been lovely time away, but of course like almost everyone else we love returning home!

However, I got my blip on one last walk around norfolkdoc and W's garden first thing in the morning - sunflowers for the memories!
