Wound up in Wexford

ArcLight and Mr A ..........

....... in a setting that will be familiar to many of my Norfolk friends, outside the Norfolk Registry Office at County Hall.

They have been staying for the last 8 days in order to establish residence in Norfolk, so today 4 of us went to "give notice" of our intentions to commit to Civil Partnership.

We had originally had an arrangement for a joint CP ceremony in Berwick upon Tweed in September - Scotland do not yet have any facility to celebrate different sex Civil Partnership.  Looking back, when we booked this, and arranged for ArcLight and Mr A to stay with us in June to do the formal residency, Covid was already rearing its head, but there was no anticipation of the extent of disruption that it has caused.  This stay inevitably had to be cancelled, and hence the CP ceremony has also been delayed - now booked for late October (all continuing to be stable, of course).

They have now set off back up to Scotland.  It's been lovely having them to stay, and good for my exercise.  W (despite his South African background) wilts badly in the heat, so I've been for far more walks with ArcLight than I would have done on my own.  We have eaten and drunk well - they brought a couple of bottles of Scottish gin, and we still have veg in the fridge that they brought down with them.  But it will be nice to have a wee quiet period, and hopefully the worst of the really hot spell is now over.

Now starting to seriously plan a road trip to Sweden in September.
