Surprise!

Today was warm, with the temperature in the high teens C. Nevertheless I was astonished to see a monarch butterfly from my kitchen window. After all, it’s still winter, and a monarch is rare in the summer.

I was even more surprised that it waited for me to get there with my camera and to take a shot. The nor’west wind was rugged at the time.
