Anemones In Clover

But not for long. This afternoon we had a thunderstorm. They are not common here, but I saw it coming over the Malvern Hills and knew it would be a bit dramatic. For about half an hour it felt as though the house was being bombarded. The lightening flashes were a few seconds apart and the thunder was almost continuous. Then came the rain, heavy as West Coast rain, 13mm in a few minutes, which was all very exciting. But unfortunately, it was followed by the hail that shredded the blossoms on the fruit trees and the flowers in the garden. I’m particularly sad about the white Muscari I was planning to blip tomorrow. These two pink anemones have been broken and beaten into the ground. Such is spring weather, anything can happen.
