what do you do when the snow is snowing, the wind is blowing and you have about an hour to find a blip? think about the weekly challenge - wire - and head up to the spare bedroom where this organised mess is lurking.

it is the rigging for the mast of our yacht, looks a mess but is all labelled so we can put it back in the right places when the mast finally gets its six or seven coats of varnish.

as you may know, a mast is held up by various metal wires, called shrouds, and the photo is a macro of two of these crossing over.

off out soon to Glasgow, to have a meal with daughter #2, Sally, and hand over her birthday present - she is 32 on Friday and is going to Berlin tomorrow to spend her birthday and Valentine's Day with her boyfriend Neil. I will collect Iain from bowling at 8.15 and was planning to take the new tripod for some night shots, but I think it is just too bloody cold!!
