Day's end

Today Carien and I visited two art galleries and treated ourselves to visual delights.

One work in particular, in soft pastels by Hanneke Benade, kept our attention for quite some time.

It is not about the realism with which she conveys her art, but rather how she portrays different textures with the use of pastels .....

On our return home, Carien experimented with soft pastels which she found very accommodating for the type of art she is doing at the moment.

Carien and her family will be returning home on Monday and I do hope that she will enjoy the new medium. Up till now she had been busy with acrylics and oils.
