Two Wasps

I saw several different wasps today, but managed to capture only two of them. Both measured about 1cm from head to tail. The one on the left came into my kitchen. It had a gold coloured abdomen with its black head and thorax. The other was outside and was quite flamboyant with dark red and yellow markings. This one had a long ovipositor, obviously a female, but I’m not sure about the other.

Covid-19: We have had three community cases reported today. As a result Auckland will be back to Level Three, meaning they have to stay home, or if they have to go out, observe strict social distancing and cover their faces. The rest of us will be at Level Two, which is much easier, but vulnerable people are advised to stay home. This will be for a period of three days, which isn’t too bad, considering how it is for people in other countries.
