Serpent's Fritillerary

Not not a new species, but the bulbs kindly given to me by Serpent have bloomed and they are a very unusual pinky pastelly shaded colour - and bigger than usual. Very appropriate that a serpent should give them as their real name is Snake's Head Fritillerary. Yes, a little bit of sunshine appeared this afternoon and it's turned mild but the man on the fruit stall in the market told himself it will be back to -5 on Sunday.

No-one told me it was international Women's Day but I hope it's been a good one whatever gender you are. And don't forget to go out and look for the comet - 40 minutes after sundown, towards the west, for best views. Have a good weekend.
