Snowy Sunset

Its been a busy day leaving little time for blipping. As has been the case most days for the last couple of months, I spent some of my time today overseeing the refurbishment of our community tearoom. Most of the work has been done by builders but, in order to keep the cost down, myself and a small number of volunteers have helped out with demolition, building kitchen units and doing all the decorating. We are on track to get the work completed in the next week or so and get the tearoom open in time for Easter

This will coincide with the opening of our Bikes & Buggies community business, which has also taken up a lot of our time during the Winter months. Take a look at the link and you will even see some of the before and after pictures of the tearoom.

In between stints at the Network Centre, Mrs B and I spent the morning with a crowd of church volunteers tidying up the interior and grounds of Carradale Church and the former manse, which are currently for sale. They have been on the market for almost a year with quite a few viewers but no hard offers yet. We decided to freshen up the place and make it look a little bit more attractive to prospective purchasers. It was hard work but quite enjoyable being out in the fresh air and enjoying the banter of friends.

I did manage to get a quick blip this morning of the frozen estuary in front of our house. Quite ironic that the hardest frost of the Winter is actually in Spring!

By the time I was heading for home the sun was getting ready to set and the last of its rays were being reflected off the snowy peaks of Arran. I just had to stop for another quick blip and take in the beauty of the moment.

It was a case of blips sandwiching my tasks today!
