Reed Bunting

Out for a breath of fresh air at Threipmuir, where there is still lying snow, and ice on the reservoir. We spent a few minutes at the hide, watching reed buntings, goldfinch, greenfinch, robin and great tits feeding from grain cast onto the ice and spotting wigeon on the open water. The feeders are empty but, as the water level is particularly high, access to fill them would require a set of waders.

We then took a wander on the boardwalk over Red Moss, then crossed the road and slithered up the path through Redford Wood until we had sighting of Harlaw reservoir before returning to the car.
