Norway spruce bark

I've been in Central Otago for a few days, camping at Naseby. The first evening we wandered through the exotic trees planted around town, and I photographed the bark of several of them. This Norway spruce (Picea abies) was interesting, although it was hard to choose between this and one of a Chinese weeping cypress, with its elegant, striped bark. Lawson's cypress is impressive too. I preferred it in black and white, but it also looks good (to me, anyway) in colour.
