Female blackbird and chick

This chick was demanding worms. It's almost as big as its mother now so it's going to have to fend for itself soon.

Plenty of summer rain this afternoon. No watering will be required. Our younger son brought the girls round to play in the garden. They'd been up in Nairn last week and had had a good holiday. I'm so glad they were able to do that. Other than that - pretty wet though quite warm. It's pleasant enough outside as long as you're under cover.
