Thank You For the Days ..

On The Verge

In spite of the boiling clouds and the sound of distant thunder, we managed a short walk this afternoon. It was shorter than we hoped, as we'd set out without consulting the map, assuming that zen would lead us to our destination, and it didn't.

We set out from the little huddle of houses at Eckford Moss, intending to walk round Wooden Loch. The names give it away, I suppose. The Loch is in the middle of the Moss, which is another word for bog - and there is no path that we could find.

It was probably just as well, as the rain started just as we were giving up, and we got pretty wet before we reached the car.

I took this shot just beside where we'd parked, beside the farm cottages. They looked very pretty sitting in their natural wild-flower gardens. With thanks to Miranda for hosting the Wildflower Week challenge.
