The sunsetting up the Glen

"We'll just pop up the hill behind the house".

My brother and his sense of humour.

It was a glorious day on the west coast as the rest of the country suffered rain, wind and snow. We set off up the slope and kept going up to false top after false top. Some red deer watched us, until they obviously didn't like what they smelled, (It wisnae me,) and they took off. The top wasn't particularly high, but higher than our "usual hill" above the beach. The walk along the shoulder and down to the bothy, was sore on short legs and bad backs, but nephew super hero "Stew", galloped off to save his ageing auntie more distress and brought the car to the forest track to return us all back to the house.

We left the boys playing with tools and watching some rugby as we shopped, collected a new supply of water and took cake to our friends Y and C. The cake we baked and took along was quite welcome, the fact that we were there too, was ok I think, too :-)

They were both on good form, even though Y had no boys to offer his usual tumbler full measures of Uisge beatha. Next time Y.
