The Edge of the Wold

Watching every move

Gus was keeping an eye on Wifie while she was hanging out the washing. He is so devoted to her (but then, aren't we all in this household?).

Well, the blizzards that afflicted the Lake District and west Cumbria passed us by, but it was still bitterly cold in the easterly winds when Gus and I went for our walk over the Knott first thing this morning.

We ventured out in the afternoon, resuming the search for a replacement car. Some more visits tomorrow, then we can perhaps make a decision. There is a new criterion that we have not used before - Gus factor, it has to be roomy enough while being safe if we get shunted from behind. And as petrol prices spiral ever upwards and carbon dioxide emissions soar, fuel economy is the other principle criterion.

This is the first blip done with the new computer. The only reason I haven't done one sooner is that this room is so freezing cold. It is so much quicker than the old whirrlitzer.

For fans of Highland cows, there's one here.
