Mrs Evil Goat

Blencathra

Having defrosted ourselves and the cottage with roaring fires and plug in heaters, we ventured out to explore the most beautiful scenery. When we visited the lakes pre little ones we would always go up a mountain, but as that is not an option with the wee ones right now, particularly in the snow, we planned a low level walk instead to Buttermere. On the way out I kept having to stop the car to take photos - it was just so beautiful - but this one of Blencathra was my favourite.

As we walked down to the lake, there was a bitter wind and Toby just got too cold and started to have a melt down so we bribed him with chocolate and headed back to the village for a long pub lunch in The Bridge.

Feeling at a bit of a loss as to what we could do indoors in the lakes, we decided to just drive! We went over Honister pass, past the quarry where we got our kitchen worktop from! The snowy scenery was breath taking, (as was the wind which did not let up) but none of my photos do justice to it. Tobes and Mr EG had a walk up to the Bowder stone in the afternoon whilst me and Eva had a snooze in the car. Then back to the cottage to snuggle down by the fire.
