Behind this unprepossessing entry is the venue for Portobello Monday Club, where elderly people meet for entertainment and lunch.

Today they were blessed with forced to endure the mixed talents of Octave for the best part of half an hour. They enjoyed it so much that they asked for an encore and we were each given an Easter Egg and decorated box of sweets (as were all the members and helpers), donated by the family of a recent member.

They might even invite us back - and we would happily return.
