2013 Challenge - Tradition

2013 Challenge, week 13:Tradition
This Pashka Easter Cheese is a tradition handed down by my Maternal Grandmother.
The truncated pyramid mold is lined with cheese cloth (you can see a corner where the cloth is showing), filled with the sweet fruit and nut laden cheese mixture, and put on a plate to catch the liquid whey (You can see the whey in the plate in view larger version). Then a flat waterproof square is placed on the cheese in the mold, with a heavy weight (the spinach can) on top to press out the excess moisture.
After one day, the mold is turned out on a plate, the cheese cloth removed and served with egg bread.
It is a very DELISH and DECADENT once a year treat!
