Lull before the storm

This morning first thing it was raining quite hard. However once  we had set out in a south westerly direction  the weather improved and we enjoyed blue sky and sunshine for much of the route to Cornwall. We stopped at the interesting and historic town of  Honiton for coffee, and near Bodmin for our picnic lunch, before driving on to  St Ives, where we are staying. 
Late this afternoon we had a walk down to the  quay where it was pleasantly warm, and a few  children were splashing about in the calm sea. 
However, tonight and tomorrow there will be strong winds, and heavy rain showers. We will be going on a guided walk tomorrow but have selected the shortest of the three options on offer, in view of the forecast.
