Aquamarine/Nanna K's Day

South Lake Union

Today it would be hard not to post something of this gorgeous day - we are so blessed for this Easter weekend - so here you have south Lake Union and the Space Needle (50 years old last year, built for the 1962 World's Fair) from a spot on our regular walk. I just rather liked the blues and the framing with these trees and I'm also amazed at what my new little sony camera can do, totally zoomed out. The building on the water is the old Armory, now the new home of the Museum of History and Industry. This view is going to change as there is so much building going on in this area - with much controversy over the height of the buildings planned. We cannot get from our side of the lake to the Seattle Center (where the space Needle is) easily because of the construction with no end in sight. If you look large you can see 3 8x's and 2 single rowing shells. It's usually too many boats for us on Saturday (this was late, too) but if it's nice tomorrow we will try for a row before the family comes for Easter brunch. Now I gotta go hide eggs! (And prepare to COOK something, sigh.)
