Mount Cook

Drove through amazing vast dry prairies expecting to see Buffalo! All the time the wonder of Mount Cook on a sunny day pulled us along nearer and nearer, it took a long time...it's big!
Camped up at the foothills in the Hooker Valley and took a walk up to the Lake. I turned back half way as still not feeling 100 %, but Yola and Hubs made it up to the lake with icebergs floating in it. Fantastic apparently.
Our camp was surrounded by glaciers and they groaned, rattled and made alarming cracking noises like thunder very regularly. Poor Yola wasn't too keen on being in her tent alone and I don't blame her! But she did get on with on it as she has done for many nights now, she might not like camping very much but she's absolutely risen to the challenge and we're both proud of her for it.
