Sydney or Bust 13

See LARGE.

I have been on the trail again and am now at Meadowbank which is 15 kilometres from the Sydney GPO. We are walking along by the Parramatta River now and will soon have reached Sydney Harbour proper. I think that the pictures are starting to be well worth a look.

Follow Stage 13: Parramatta to Meadowbank.

Meadowbank Railway Bridge is often known as the John Whitton Bridge in honour of its designer and chief engineer. Parts for the bridge were manufactured in Derby UK and shipped out to Australia. It has iron piers and wrought iron trusses and was completed in 1886. In 1980, rail traffic transferred to a new, larger structure immediately adjacent to the west and the original bridge was converted for pedestrian and cycle use in 2000.

Things have become a trifle busy round here. I shall be taking a bit of a Blip Break for a few days. All the best, everyone.
