Anchorage

The Ards Man had a good sail out to Helens Bay yesterday with pal G. G used to have a boat exactly like ours but he has just sold it and bought a Grand Banks instead. The Grand Banks doesn’t sail, but uses engines instead (it has a sort of mini sail but is a motor yacht), so G will now be able to helm from the comfort of an inside cockpit!

He was back to being hardy yesterday, though, and they anchored in Helens Bay for coffee and buns. I think they were just leaving when this photo was taken as the anchor is back in place again and there is a reef in the sail. The AM was happy to be out as there was a goodly breeze (16-20knots!) so they were sailing along at about 6 knots, good going for our boat!

That’s the blue waters of Belfast Lough behind them.
