Turning point

Spent the morning digging and planting in the veg garden in the sunshine. Then went out on a short cycle over to the other side of the island.

The outward trip was warm(ish) and the sun was shining. As we rode through the village people were cutting their grass and washing fluttered on the lines.

We stopped at the farthest point from our house to take some pictures of blue seas and skies.... and it started to snow!

We very quickly turned and headed for home. As we passed back through the village the temperature had plummeted from 10° to 5° and the lawnmowers had been hastily stowed away. The washing was still there, this is Orkney - the washing stays out no matter what happens!

By the time we got back those of us wearing shorts had legs turned blue. It was very nice to be welcomed home by fresh baked bread and carrot and ginger soup. Warmed us up nicely.
