Another walk by the Tweed today (extra), further upstream, at Abbotsford. Not such a pleasant day, rain threatening though it didn't amount to much.

The gargoyle is on the wall of the old stable block. But its original home was as a waterspout on St Giles Cathedral in Edinburgh. Just one of the multitude of antiquities and relics that Sir Walter Scott collected to enhance his baronial pile.

Plodding on with the hand-quilting, not seeing a huge improvement in the stitching but my fingers are now calloused enough that it doesn't hurt when I stick the needle in them.
