belleek pottery is a porcelain - company that began trading - in 1884 in belleek county fermanagh - in what was to become - northern ireland and the factory - produces porcelain characterized by - its thinness, slightly iridescent - surface and body formulated - with a significant proportion of frit (ceramic) - actual pieces of belleek - began being made - as early as 1849 - and they continue to - be manufactured to this day

of course the older - pieces are going to be - more valuable and are - easily identified by the trademark - shamrock on most of them - however not on all - some pieces are very plain - having just a creamy - ivory base or like in the - case of this master salt - the traditional green - has been used - but always there is - the telltale iridescent coloring - when you hold it - to the light - that gentle shimmering which pricks - at your skin leaving - goosebumps telling you - you’re holding something truly special - and it’s an indication - that it’s going to be…
