Sunday 12 February 2012: winter pigeon...
...flying through snow and cold
it snowed most of the day yesterday... not a lot - light little flakes blowing through the air - enough to leave a couple of inches on the ground at the house - cover the roads, too... and make the most amazing snow wonderland on the trees - a combination of shimmery ice with the white of the snow...
i needed to refill food for the princess grace - so even though i cannot stand to be out on the roads in poor weather, i had to venture out... i decided to stop by the park and was greeted by a plethora of pigeons... they literally flocked to me - cooing a welcome that was delightful and charming. it's always such a treat to see these birds in flight - their colorful wings outstretched - then how they balance when landing on those thin, spindly legs... enjoying wildlife - taking in nature - always makes for...
