Battlement Ruins over The Needles, IOW

Backdated Blip 72

How do you whittle down 700 images taken on a day trip to the Isle of Wight, leaving Southampton on the first ferry of the day and returning late at night.

On foot, but using buses on the Island - Perfect weather, with lenses from 8mm to 150-500mm, I had already edited about 100 pics. So many from the ferry of the sunrise and vessels at Fawley and entering Cowes, Cowes itself, walks around there and Yarmouth.

But had to get the quintessential Isle of Wight shot for my Blip entry and never having been to The Needles before had to choose one of those. Some of those edited already, but not THE one, so this has been done quite quickly. It demonstrates the luminescent light and chalky cliffs - vertigo sufferers may wish to look away!
