Dolores

Many of the older generation of women in my pueblo, and it is exclusively women, still prefer to hand wash items of clothing in the old outdoor washhouse which has been lovingly preserved. Many years ago, before the advent of washing machines, this area would have been much busier since it also served as a central meeting point for the townsfolk. With the sun shining and the heady smell of orange blossom in the air Dolores told me that that it is a beautiful place to come to and added that she has been washing clothes here for over forty years.
