Caterpillars

Identification - Limacodidae, Parasa lepida - blue striped nettle moth. This is only a provisional ID at this time. It is possible that the blip is an early instar.

Got some good images to choose from, but these caterpillars kept pulling me back. There were a clump of 5 or 6 of them on a well chewed stalk. Never seen these before and have no idea about an ID.

Violent storms and heavy rains last night. The stream broke its bank at its lowest point which was still about six feet above the stream normally. Quite hard to imagine that volume of water flowing, as I estimate the incline to be about ten degrees.

The waters flooded one of the paddy fields, which now looks like a well used rubbish dump, covered in plastic water bottles, rubbish bags and just about anything you could imagine. I feel very sorry for the farmers, who now have to scrape up this obnoxious mess and return it to the stream!

People just dump their daily waste in the stream because they do not want to pay for it to be removed and they are too lazy to go to the designated dumping areas. This location is on the outskirts of the city, so imagine what it is like further downstream!
