Classic Cuban Car.

Still in Santa Clara. We spent the day doing the classic tourist thing! visited a cigar factory! Holy shit....there were about 200 people, sitting in rows, with piles of tobacco leaves beside them, rolling and creating the classic cigar! Hot and humid, intense - and they sit there for 8 hours, with perhaps 2 or 3 15 minute breaks! Pretty astonishing! I did purchase a very expensive cigar....i don't actually smoke, but i have experienced a Cuban cigar before and they are something else!

Visited some other historical sights and basically hung out in the city. I found it sometimes just too overwhelming....the streets are narrow, and crowded, there are various forms of transportation buzzing around at all times...horse drawn buggies, bicycle drawn taxis, car taxis, people on mopeds, bicycles...horses....all coming and going at what seems like a totally chaotic speed and combination! but they seem to be very laid back people.....i did at one point retreat to our Casa for a quiet hours nap!

After a really good nap and a delicious dinner, and some wonderful conversations with a German couple and 2 English chaps eating at the restaurant, Terry and I headed out to experience the night life! We found a funky little bar in the square, a Cuban band playing so we ordered our drinks and sat down. Pretty soon there were folks up dancing....now i love to dance, Terry not so much!!! Luckily a very sweet Cuban Gentleman recognised that i needed to dance and he invited me up onto the dance floor. It was amazing! he took time to teach me some of the steps and we had a grand time!
