Dad's Army

It was Dad's Army at Fort Scratchley at lunch. A bus load of cruisers (The Radiance of the Seas had docked this morning so the city was full of tourists) were at the Fort and with me watched a demonstration of the firing of this field gun. Apparently the barrel bit had been made locally about 3 months ago but the wheels were from the original field gun. The members of the army are volunteers from the Fort Scratchley Historical Society.

In sadder news, I heard that Nathan died this morning seemingly from a heart attack. He was a fit 36 year old who has left behind a wife and two young children. It's been a bad week.
