Life is a Challenge!

Grandchildren are a Blessing!

We are looking after our teenage grandchildren this weekend, as our son and daughter-in-law are having well-earned break in Copenhagen. I had a great time last night at a Piano Concert where children from the age of 6 to 16 showed what great talent they have. Our granddaughter, Charlotte, took part and it was a joy to listen to her and to support her (and it was much quieter than the drumming afternoon a few weeks ago look here). She saw me with the camera and did say I could blip her, but I had already done mine for the day - so she will be my blip some other day this weekend.

The standard at the concert was extremely high but the one thing that disappointed me was that the professional, who had given a Master Class prior to the concert was asked to close, which he did very well, but he never mentioned the wealth of talent we had listened to all evening and I couldn't understand that. Interestingly, my granddaughter said that she thought some of the students had played better than he had and if I am honest, I would have to agree with her.

Josh stayed with Grandad last night and they had a good time together, chatting about this and that and just generally enjoying each other's company and of course, there is always football to chat about!

Today's blip is Josh and Grandad - it's Friday, so as Mr. HCB got ready to take them to school, there was an air of "Phew, TGIF" in the house. Both grandchildren got up very well - without too much cajoling on my behalf and now it is peaceful for a few hours, so I can sit and have a cup of coffee and read the newspaper. We did promise we would do some cutting down in the garden, but I think we'll wait until the sun comes out as Mr HCB said it is rather chilly out there. Nearly forgot, Lisa, our lovely hairdresser, is coming to cut our hair later this morning, so better not get too involved in the garden!

You may remember this song sung by Clive Dunn - Mr HCB isn't quite that old that he can remember penny farthings on the streets, but I think it's true to say that our grandchildren love him! Games evening tonight, so that's something to look forward to!
