“We are Just Good Friends”…..

When Marigold and Myrtle, our two fluffy tortie and white cats, joined our family as little kittens Maisie decided they were her puppies. She’d had a liter of pups in the past and knew all about mothering. So she adopted the kittens and would wash them thoroughly…. Poor drenched little mites. And she’d pick them up and carry them around. When they grew older and started climbing trees and up the pergola Maisie was very upset. She would sit at bottom of the tree and whimper and cry. “Come on down. You are puppies not cats. You might fall and hurt yourselves”. It was both a touching and funny sight.
